ABOUT DESTINATION
Istria is a wedding destination that every newlywed could wish for. We have created the Istria Wedding Destination Tour – Ethno Jouney, which passes through Pula, Vodnjan, Labin, Novigrad, Pićan, Gračišće, Kršan and Barban. The route passes through eight top tourist destinations and hidden gems of Istria, offering everything related to weddings from photo locations to wedding venues.
We filmed a campaign based on the preservation of cultural heritage and Istrian traditional weddings with a special emphasis on sustainable weddings. Through the campaign, we wanted to convey the beauty of Istria and everything it has to offer. Srđana Šverko washed the wool from Istrian sheep using an innovative ecological process and spun it on the oldest machine in Europe, the one in Ilok. She created a protected ball of Istrian “I wool”. Igor Galaš is the most awarded designer in the history of Croatian fashion, winner of the World Fashion Ambassador award in San Francisco, who created a collection of wedding dresses from “I wool”. The wedding dresses are handmade in a combination of spun wool and fleece. They show the traditional Istrian wedge cut, which has been used in Istria throughout history to save materials. A wedding dress was created on which lace was made from wool for the first time in history. Mario Treščec is one of the most awarded Croatian hairdressers and has created the headpieces, crowns and decorations in the collection, through his love of ethnology with knowledge and work on headpieces and decorations from domestic Istrian wool and fleece.
